The highly anticipated Gachiakuta anime continues to build excitement ahead of its July 2025 debut by introducing one of its key characters, Riyo Reaper, through a striking new visual and a short promotional video. Studio BONES FILM, known for delivering high-quality and stylized action sequences, is spearheading the animation, with Fumihiko Suganuma serving as the series director. The English version, published by Kodansha USA since January 2024, follows the harrowing tale of Rudo, a young man from the slums of a floating city who is wrongfully accused of murder. Sentenced to exile into the trash-filled abyss below, Rudo must survive a world teeming with monstrous creatures born from discarded humanity. To survive and seek revenge, he joins the Cleaners, warriors tasked with purging the Pit of these grotesque threats.
